Stephanie Barnard, MS, CCC-SLP is a bilingual certified speech-language pathologist and holds a Colorado license in Speech Pathology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University and a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology from Portland State University. Stephanie has extensive experience in various acquired speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, dysphagia, cognitive communication and expressive/receptive language impairments. She is a certified SPEAK OUT! provider—a program to increase speech intelligibility and volume of those with Parkinson’s Disease. Stephanie is also certified in neuromuscular electrical stimulation to treat various swallowing disorders that can result from acute brain injury or neurodegenerative diseases.
Stephanie’s range of clinical experience is a result of working in subacute inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospitals and outpatient rehabilitation. She has years of experience volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Frontotemporal Dementia/Primary Progressive Aphasia caregiver support group. She uses her cumulative and diverse experiences as the cornerstones to provide the most comprehensive treatment approach using the latest peer-reviewed research. Compassion, understanding and creativity are the foundation for her approach to a productive and meaningful therapeutic experience for patients and families.
